What Type Of Magnesium Is Used In Natural Vitality CALM®?

Our powder formulations that contain magnesium citrate are created with a proprietary blend of magnesium carbonate and citric acid. Magnesium carbonate and citric acid, when combined with water, create a solution of magnesium citrate.

Some of our powders such as Natural Vitality CALM® Sleep, Natural Vitality CALM® for Kids and Natural Vitality CALM® with Probiotics also contain a blend of magnesium citrate and magnesium glycinate.

Natural Vitality CALM® gummies contain magnesium citrate. Our Natural Vitality CALM® capsules contain magnesium glycinate.

The Directions Say That You Can Prepare Natural Vitality CALM® With 2-3 Oz. Of Hot Water Or Simply Add To A Glass Or Bottle Of Cold Water. What Is The Difference?

The powder form of Natural Vitality CALM® is comprised of magnesium carbonate and citric acid. Adding water triggers a chemical reaction, binding the two together to create magnesium citrate. If you add hot water, this reaction will occur immediately and you will know the product is fully converted into magnesium citrate when the fizzing has settled. If you add cold water, the reaction can take up to 15 minutes before it is fully converted. Neither method yields more or less of a benefit; it is mainly a matter of how promptly you’d like to consume Natural Vitality CALM® after preparing it.

When should I take Natural Vitality CALM®?

Natural Vitality CALM® may be taken any time of day. Some prefer taking the product in the morning while others prefer taking it later in the day. Consistent intake of Natural Vitality CALM® on a daily or regular basis is the best way to experience the benefits and achieve an optimum magnesium intake.

What does it mean/what should I do if diarrhea occurs?

For those with sensitive digestive systems, or for those who are just starting to use the product, begin with half a teaspoon daily, and increase to recommendations as stated on the product label. Always consult your health care professional if you have any health concerns before using this product.

Is Natural Vitality CALM® a laxative?

Natural Vitality CALM® is a dietary supplement intended to support healthy magnesium levels; the product is not intended to be a laxative.

Can I take Natural Vitality CALM® after its expiration date?

While magnesium is a mineral and does not degrade, there are ingredients in the product (citric acid and flavoring agents) that have the potential to spoil beyond the expiration date. We recommend consuming the product prior to the expiration date on the package.

Does Natural Vitality CALM® contain corn or any of its derivatives?

The unflavored version of our Natural Vitality CALM® does not contain any corn or derivatives of corn.

The flavoring used in the other varieties (Raspberry Lemon, Sweet Lemon, Orange, Cherry and Watermelon) does have a sub-ingredient that is derived from corn (organic maltodextrin).

There are no corn proteins however, in the product and all flavors of Natural Vitality CALM® powders have been verified as non-GMO by the Non-GMO Project.

Natural Vitality CALM® Plus Calcium does contain some corn derivative (ascorbic acid) and is also Non-GMO Project verified.

Can I put Natural Vitality CALM® in something besides water?

Yes. We recommend you first activate the product in 2-3 oz. of hot water. Once the fizzing has stopped and the blend has settled, you can add it to a juice, smoothie, or herbal tea. You can also add to cold water (water bottle or iced drink). In cold drinks Natural Vitality CALM® will take longer to dissolve but, once dissolved, it functions the same as in warm or tea beverages.

Are there any interactions with Natural Vitality CALM® and prescription medications?

Please defer to the advice of your physician or pharmacist prior to beginning magnesium supplementation if you are taking any prescription medications.

Is it safe to give a child Natural Vitality CALM®?

We recommend that you consult your health care practitioner before giving Natural Vitality CALM® to children. Natural Vitality CALM® for Kids are specially formulated for children.

Can you take Natural Vitality CALM® while pregnant or nursing?

We suggest that you consult your health care practitioner regarding supplementation when pregnant or nursing.

Should you refrigerate Natural Vitality CALM® after opening?

No. We recommend the product be stored in a cool dry place.

Can I prepare Natural Vitality CALM® in advance and not drink it until later?

Yes. Many customers do prepare Natural Vitality CALM® in advance and drink it throughout the same day. The active ingredient, magnesium, will not be affected if you prepare it in advance.

Why isn’t my bottle of Natural Vitality CALM® full?

When the powder is bottled, it is extremely fluffy from the mixing that occurs in the production process. Due to this fluffiness, the bottles start out extremely full; so full in fact that a giant auger has to press the product down in order to apply a cap. Over time, the product settles and may appear to be less, although the net weight has not changed.

Do your products come with a safety seal that you have to peel off?

Each bottle of Natural Vitality CALM® is sealed with a rip-tab seal on the outside of the lid or a foil seal over the top of it. The rip-tab is designed to not allow the lid to be taken off without having to remove or break it.
